Karen is a massage therapist and an artist. She wanted some portraits done for her website. Since she works with her hands, we wanted to do some photos that included her hands in them. I find hands to be an exciting challenge- the challenge being that often times hands can end up looking large in a photo, so the trick is to place both the hands and my camera in a way that keeps the hands looking proportional. I think Karen is a beautiful person inside and out, so it was fun to capture these wonderful photos of her! We created her photos in the rose gardens at Peninsula Park…I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning!

I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful Kristi and Chris for their May 15th wedding at the Edgefield. Remember the last day the sun shined all day in Portland? Yes? Well that day was May 15th. The weather could not have been better. They had a sweet, lovely ceremony and the flowers were gorgeous. The party was a blast, too! Enjoy the photos!

I shot a feature for the Eugene, Cascades, Coast travel guide that came out recently. It was a long and wonderful feature with many beautiful locations, people, landscapes and experiences. So begins my series with a set of images from Pfeiffer Vineyards. Check back soon to see some portraits!

You are going to look absolutely stunning on your wedding day. One of the many reasons I love my job is that I get to photograph amazing brides. While I spend the majority of my time recording the moments of the day, I also take the time to capture the bride in a timeless, nicely lit portrait. The light at this hour could not have been more perfect. Slightly diffused and warm, I had her stand at just the right angle so that it could light her face beautifully. This photographer loves wispy clouds that block the sun ever so slightly : )

Sometimes I like to put up personal photos- this photo is of Oscar and Buster at Lost Lake hanging out on the dock. Obviously, Buster loves Oscar as he spends the majority of time staring at him just like he is doing in this photo.

I went out to Oak Ridge for a photo shoot for the Eugene, Cascades, Coast travel guide. I love the colors, the lighting and expression on her face.

In their recent issue, Oregon Bride Magazine wrote an article about the cool spots to get married in/near Salem, OR. One location, Zenith Vineyards, is absolutely beautiful. My fabulous clients, Amy and Sloan were married there over the summer. Oregon Bride Magazine featured one of my photos as an opener to the article.
